My Thai massage with Nana was wonderful. She molded and stretched me like a ball of Play-Doh in the best way possible…I left with significantly less stress in my neck, shoulders, and leg muscles, and look forward to revisiting The Raven Spa soon. It’s such a peaceful little retreat in Silver Lake.

Wow. I came here for a deep tissue massage, that was gifted to me by a girlfriend, and it left me SO euphoric. My masseuse was Milk, and she was incredible. I highly recommend her, was a beautiful intuitive masseuse! Christine at the front desk was lovely, too — honestly my whole experience was 10/10. I even booked to come back less than a week later. I love this place and look forward to being a regular there.

Nana gave me the best massage of my life!! Truly. I tried a hot stone massage for the first time and now I’ll never get anything else. This place is so magical and charming! Loved the tea and fruit service afterwards.

Went with my husband last week and top-notch in every respect. Receptionist provided some of the best customer service I've ever had at any business, period. Massage was amazing, so relaxing and relieved my back pain. Beautiful atmosphere, excited to book again soon.

I received a gift card for The Raven from a friend and have not been able to utilize it for a few reasons.

1) it’s nearly impossible to make an appointment. Their website and booking platform is completely outdated and terrible to navigate and their MINDBODY profile doesn't show any availability. Don't try to call either because they don't answer the phone. They'll just text you that they're too busy with other customers to speak with you but never follow up.

2) The manager (at least of the Silverlake location) has a nasty, passive-aggressive, and off-putting attitude, to say the very least. She was extremely rude to both my husband and myself on the two occasions we spoke with her and clearly did not have any interest in accommodating us, even though a gift card (worth several hundred dollars) had been purchased for us.

With so many incredible destinations for massage and bodywork in Los Angeles, I would highly recommend taking your business elsewhere. We certainly will be.

I had scheduled a 1 hour deep tissue couples massage for my wife and I for our first anniversary thinking it would be a great way to relax. Unfortunately it was the least relaxing experience of our entire anniversary.

The customer service was bad. The receptionists called the day before to confirm the appointment for our massage. When they called to confirm, I asked with no expectations, if it would be possible to tack on a 30 minute procedure my wife asked me if she could get in addition. The receptionist's response was, “you know that’s something you should have asked for when you originally made the appointment.” Yeah I know that’s why I asked if it was possible.

We arrived 15 minutes before our appointment expecting the usual forms to fill out. You know liability releases and medical history forms. We didn’t fill out any of that, they just rushed us in the back room for our massage. We had only been in the room for 20 seconds getting undressed for the massage before the masseuses were already trying to enter.

Now I know for a fact that I scheduled a deep tissue massage. I even said on arrival to the receptionists that we were there for our deep tissue couples massage. That’s not what we got at all. I never have had this type of massage before and my wife had to explain to me that it was a thai massage. Yeah, this was not a relaxing thing to have on our anniversary.

Is jamming your fingers in my ear canals and then wiping your fingers off on my face a part of the thai massage? Jamming your thumbs into my eyes? Spending the majority of the time on my legs and butt mostly ignoring my back all together?

On top of not having the massage I paid for and receiving some very unsettling touches to the inside of my ears and face. The masseuse was wildly inappropriate at the end. As I was opening my eyes after grinding my teeth for an hour, she tells me her name, I could barely hear her because she clogged my ears and I asked her to repeat herself, she proceeded to say to me “TIP TIP TIP TIP TIP TIP TIP TIP TIP TIP” (which my wife who was laying 3 feet away from me confirmed she yelled at me).

I have knee and ear problems which this procedure (even if it was what a thai massage is) inflamed. You would have known about this if you had us fill out forms like I have at every other spa and masseuse I have been to in my life. We did not fill out a liability release, I cannot repeat that enough. So you really should have made sure you were giving us the right massage and not causing injuries.

A funny part to me was how empty the facility was, they could have for sure added an additional procedure with the lack of clients they had when we were there like my wife requested. Thank god they didn’t because I was so tense and uncomfortable at the end that we rushed out of there. Hopefully the 20 dollars I left for tip goes only to the masseuse that treated my wife because yelling at someone “TIP TIP TIP TIP TIP TIP TIP TIP TIP TIP” does not make me want to tip you at all.

In short, do not go here. This will be remembered as the low point in the 1 year anniversary for my wife and I.

Edit reply: Thank you for your response. Thip had damaged my hearing so unfortunately all I heard was tip tip tip tip tip. It seems the majority of your concerns with my review is that I misheard broken English and that your receptionists didn't have us file a liability release. Not the fact that we received incorrect services and dismissive customer service. We will not return because if I pay for one thing and get another, and that's not acknowledged. I expect that to be something that will repeat on return.

My wife and I try to get massages regularly- we've had many around town and around the world. Recently we've been hearing about The Raven from of our clients and decided to give them a try today. We both did 60 minute deep tissue, the baseline we start with at new places. Street parking was easy to find and the entrance is welcoming and sets the tone for the experience.
We were greeted at the desk by Christine and offered water and facilities, a nice start on a super hot day. We were shown to our rooms and I was impressed by the decor and spaciousness- so many places are cramped and tight. Good a/c on a 95 degree day was a relief. One reason for our visit was the hope of more comfortable tables than the place down the street where after my last massage my jaw got so messed up it hurt to eat for a month. Tables were wide and comfortable with a good face pad and nicer sheets+towels than other places.
On to the massage- I didn't specify any problem areas because I wanted a general overall treatment. A good therapist can find the problems in my experience and that's what I look for in a massage. It was clear that Nana is experienced and knows her stuff because while thorough and even, she definitely put emphasis on the problem areas she found. In the 30 years I've been getting massages, I've learned that the best results are achieved when you work together- breathe in to the initial pressure and out as they proceed. Sometimes inexperienced therapists don't pay attention to the breathing and inexperienced clients don't know when to breathe with the movements. Anyway, pressure was great even if challenging at times- I was especially tight today and hadn't had a massage in a while so I was grateful for the help. Before I knew it my hour was up but every area was covered and problem areas were treated.
After leaving the room we were given delicious tea, water and fruit- a first for me. It was really nice being able to sit in the tranquil space enjoying the soothing fountain and great a/c. That was a big plus- being able to relax and appreciate my newly refreshed muscles.
I highly recommend this lovely place and I can't wait to go back for a 90 minute session.
