Sadly I would give this place O stars if I could. I hope anyone reading this will please take my experience to heart. Do not send your loved one here under any circumstance. I was met with hostility, abrasiveness, insensitivity, and sarcasm all at once. This sounds impossible however, the individuals in admissions were able to demonstrate all of these things very successfully. Even the director of admissions Austin led with and carried the same chip of abrasive justification for said hostile behavior. I tried to speak with someone else regarding my concerns yet the director of admissions claimed there was no one else I could speak with. I can only imagine how many patients have fallen through the cracks and have been discouraged from getting treatment.
Much less being a patient in such a vulnerable position. This is the worst experience I have ever had trying to get my loved one help. Getting sober is a journey and an incredibly vulnerable time. Stonegate Center claims to lead by being Christian yet does not walk in and or show the love of god.
(DO NOT)send your loved one here.
Sending any loved one here would be exposing them to the lion's den.
Help protect your loved ones' choice to get sober and go somewhere else.

Just finished my program at Stonegate. This facility is gorgeous and the staff treat you very well. I enjoyed my stay here and the 12 step stepwork is extremely helpful and effective. The facility itself is well run and full of love for the clients. I would highly recommend this treatment center to anyone struggling with addiction and/or alcoholism. Bettina, Sydney, America, Lauren, Carter, and Rachel, are all amazing and very helpful- at the women's center. If you’re looking for a treatment center to actually take action towards recovery, this is it. Highly recommend and great experience.

Just finished 34 days here and I learned more about myself in this past month than I ever have in my lifetime. The step work is in depth, and is gone over with staff after each one you complete, to ensure understanding and effectiveness. The staff and counselors made me feel as if I were at home.
The bad reviews of the people who were kicked out had several warnings and chances to correct the disruptive behaivors they were displaying before being asked to leave. Stonegate does not allow people to be there and disrupt the ones that truly want to be there. I will recommend this treatment facility to anyone. This is nothing like a state ran facility. All the staff truly are there because they want to be, a lot are in recovery themselves and have walked in our shoes before. I love you all, Bettina, Sydney, America, Lauren, Rachel, Dana, Shonda, Theresa, and Elisha. Thank you Stonegate!

My mentally ill alcoholic son, Matt, walked out of STONEGATE Center one year ago today and has never been seen since. He was 45 at the time and was on 7 strong medications. Yet, he was allowed to leave without water, food, ID, phone, medication or money. Matt lived in San Diego and I’m certain had no idea that he was walking into a very rural area of Texas with no easily accessible town nearby. And, he obviously was not thinking clearly, as he had nothing with him with which to buy food or water. When the staff standing in for Matt’s counselor called me to say Matt was gone, I asked if the facility is out looking for him, knowing that he was not well. His reply was that the Sheriff had been called and was out looking for him. He then said, “The Center does not go out looking….Runners always come back”.

Matt has a 10 year-old son and a family that he is close to, so if he were still alive, we would have heard from him. We hired private investigators, ran a local newspaper article and the Sheriff searched 100 acres around the facility - first with drones, then with cadaver dogs. He is on every Missing Persons Registry, along with my DNA, his finger prints & dental records. Yet, he has never been found. I post this because this facility is certified as ‘Dual-diagnosis’, meaning they are trained to deal with the mentally ill, as well as the addicted. Given their remote location and their attitude, I obviously regret entrusting them with my son.

I’m a die-hard Stonegate Center fan, through and through. And, I love everything about this place. My first taste of Stonegate Center came in 2010 when when we sent our cousin here for drug and alcohol treatment. He was a member of the first class that ever passed through its doors - back when it was just one red barn. Now, it’s exploded into a 125+ acre campus and with two gender-separate areas for men and women, and is staffed by some of the best, hard-working employees this area offers.

I love this place as a family member of a former client, but now even more as an employee. I was lucky enough to be hired on as a Business Development Representative a couple years out of college and haven’t looked back since.

The thing about Stonegate is that it’s designed to be tough. It’s designed to challenge you and to cause you to take a deep, introspective look into the disease of addiction and how it’s negatively impacted your (and your family’s) life. We don’t want you coming through our program saying, “Eh, it was okay.” Frankly, we want to make you into the best person you can be, and that requires work. A daily grind. If you’re looking for easy treatment or an easy way out, look elsewhere. We want to help our clients acheive longterm sobriety and just be well-rounded, badass pillars in their community. And to do so, Stonegate hires strong, passionate, and empowering people who aren’t afraid to tell you the honest truth. But, who will also do anything to save your life.

I’m blessed to be able to learn from Stonegate’s excellent clinicians (Satchel, Will, Jacobie, Jim, Clint, Tara, Julia, Alfredo, and everyone else). They’ve educated me on clinical psychology and the therapeutic approaches that go into our clients’ treatment. Not to mention, they’ve even helped coach me through my own personal struggles. They’re phenomenal.

As for our admissions team (Donna & Dusty), they work their tail off. When I cut out of work, they’re still in the War Room talking to clients, parents, other members in the Recovery Community - all to make sure each client lands somewhere safe and with all the tools necessary for sobriety. These guys are on call 24/7/365, and are the voice you first hear when you call us at 3am needing help.

Now, to the real heroes... the men and women who get no credit but affect the most change: our Recovery Advocates, Program Directors, and Client Services Personnel. These guys (Allison, Stephanie, Alaina, Hannah, James, Austin & Austin, Dylan, Lester, Gino, Zach, Jason, Kelsey & Kelsey, Meghann, David, Josh, Martin, have taught me everything about the 12-Steps and Recovery. And just like our clients, they have no problem holding me accountable or telling me when I’m wrong. But, man, they rock! They go out of their way to sit with our clients, go through each step, hold everybody to a higher standard, and save lives.

If you asked me 5 years ago what I thought my future would look like, I never would have imagined myself here. But, God has a way of pushing us in the right direction. I’ve never been more proud to work for a company in my life. And, I hope I can be an effective resource in the community and make recovery fun for our clients. Here’s to a bright future!

No one is excited to go to treatment. Hopefully you chose Stonegate as the starting point for your new life. This place will set you up for success. Staff members truly care about setting you up the best way possible. 12 step program is very solid (Big Book University). Faith based program that really gets you plugged in to your higher power (God). The facilities are nice, landscape is beautiful country, and the food is decent. Most of all they will hold you accountable even after you have completed your treatment. They truly understand the importance of people, hope, and faith.

As an alumni of SGC, four years ago, and now working in the addiction space, I must say that Stonegate Center is one of my top referral options for inpatient treatment. We've had several men in our sober living homes that went through the program at SGC who have gone on to get their families back, their careers back and most importantly, they are staying sober! I'm one of them!! From admissions to discharge, the experience changed my life and the lives of so many others.
