My father was here earlier this year and the care was below standard. When he needed another rehab stay, my mother reluctantly agreed to let him go back because there was a bed available. He has been here since 3:15 this afternoon. It is now 7:45 and they never brought his dinner. He is in severe pain and a woman at the desk said “ he’ll just have to wait”. I asked the nurse, who told me she has 30 patients under her care, how to get ahold of his physician because he is in excruciating pain and she said she didn’t know how. She told me to ask a nurse on the other floor. The second nurse paged the doctor at the hospital for me. It is heartbreaking to watch a loved one suffer while employees sit and laugh at the desk and show absolute apathy. We should never have allowed him to return. There is no communication information on the white board in his room. It’s a warehouse.

My loved one was here for around 10 days following a small stroke, and loved it so much she's asked if she can come back once her daughter is in town to show her how nice it was. The nurses were kind and engaging, the room was bright and clean, and the food was good enough that she put on 5 (much needed) pounds while she was there. Our family is so grateful to the amazing therapy team that got her safely home so quickly!
Also - the view from the room was amazing!

My 90 year old Mother was here for about three weeks. After two days she was sent back to the hospital due to bleeding from her stomach and intestines. This was the right decision by the Doctor here and St. Joseph's hospital was able to get it resolved and sent her back to Sloan's Lake. She was there for close to Three weeks before being discharged. During that time she was taken care of well by the staff. They were very attentive and also got her moving around with Physical and Occupational therapy when she was up to it. They also were very helpful getting her set up with follow up care at home. I've noticed at every hospital we've been at lately with the exception of St Joseph's, the staffing on weekends can be somewhat short but if any challenges came up here they were resolved with a call to the 6th floor for help and were resolved in a timely manner.

I work in Healthcare and this Facility is as good as you can get now days! I visited a patient today, the entire place was functioning seamlessly. Medicine, rehab, surgery, illness is all treated in a Medical "Practice" state. This isn't Star Trek with a blue light that will fix anything. This staff is warm, educated, experienced and communicative. I highly recommend this rehab as an ICU nurse of 31 years. They make it happen to the best of their ability! Bravo! Bravo!

My father has been in this center for a week and honestly incredibly disappointed by the care. His medications have been messed up (given wrong meds) his dietary plan has NOT been followed at all (diabetic, heart, fluid restriction), and wound care has not been done. While the people are nice, he is leaving in worse condition than he arrived, which is ridiculous.

Incredible Staff to care for your loved one for rehab . The Administrator is so kind. He believes in having a high standard of care. The Nursing and therapy team are care and goal oriented.

My experience at Sloan’s Lake rehab has been totally positive and I did have a comparison to use that I won’t mention. The quality of staff is great. The PT and OT are especially helpful in individualizing your treatments. The whole center has a feel of wanting to help you and they seem to have a spirit of togetherness here which benefits patients enormously and has benefited me! The food is also good and there’s a feeling of an effort to make it both delicious and helpful.
