Dr. Peña was super helpful and informative. I really appreciate that he was honest and let me know what I was getting into so I could make the right decision. It’s not an exact science because all tattoos are different and he said it could take quite a few visits, possibly 10 or 12. One tattoo was completely gone after 3 visits and the other about 75% gone. I highly recommend his services if you’re wanting to get rid of any tattoos and Dr. Peña is a master of his craft!!!

Tye the owner is a total scam artist and a creep. I am a tattoo artist whose been getting lasered for over 15 years and this has been the worst ever experience. Not only once but multiple different sessions that tye has lied about the quality of his lasers.
Dont be fooled. He seems very knowledgable and experienced but the fact is he his a complete nightmare laser technician and I wouldn’t trust him at all. Please take it from me.
I’ve been suffering from laser scarring and redness that won’t go away. I’m left with insane scars all over my arm that won’t go away even 6-8 months later. He’s left over 4 permanent scars from my leg to my arm . I was getting laser tattoo removal in San Francisco by a company whom I won’t name but was amazing. Not only am I left with scars that have given me low self esteem about my arm I have to completely wear long sleeve because what tai has done to my body. Not only that is my girlfriend has had scars and was terrified to even get lasered . I’ve recommended multiple friends and clients to him and he continues his illegitimate practice. He’s charged my friends over $500 plus zero numbing creme .

Tai is such a cheap scam artist using the oldest lowest quality laser machines . He tells you to numb yourself and pay for your own medicine and. Numbing. Total scam. Most med spas include numbing with your purchase .

Whatever you do avoid this person and staff at all cost. I’ve even had weird issues with him Lasering me and leaning his private area on me. The guy is a completely insane and should be shut down. He’s over priced , his staff is rude , he doesn’t know what he’s doing at all. He talks your ear off about the technical aspects but he turns up the treatment and only has heat based lasers which cause extreme damage to your skin.

I have gotten and wanted to get my arms lasered for many years and because Santa Cruz has minimal to no places like this he is left to serve the whole city and he’s a total rip off scam artist. Do not give this person your time or money. Trust me I know all about Lasering ! He is the worst and should be shut down !!

Avoid avoid avoid !!!!!!!! I’m going to be calling the better business bureau and health department on him. And I’ll be posting my photos of scars.

Even after I got scared the first few times he was working with me on pricing but the pricing wasn’t worth the permanent damage he has done .

I've been really pleased with my treatments at SC Med Spa. The online booking process is really easy. Dr dePena offers a wide range of services and seems to have the most up-to-dat technology in the Santa Cruz area. He always takes time to explain all the details -- if something will hurt a bit, recovery time, side effects. I've never felt rushed by him. Results have been great. No surprises, no disappointments. Street parking is easy. Prices are reasonable, especially relative to more expensive spas in San Jose or San Francisco. Dr dePena clearly loves his work and is super enthusiastic about getting patients to their goals.

At Santa Cruz Med Spa, I was actually treated by the doctor! This afforded me the great opportunity to speak with Dr. de Pena at great length about all of the information and research behind the products and procedures. He also uses a soft-tip cannula instead of needles for the fillers so I didn't need aditional injections for anesthesia. I usually bruise a little bit at the injection site but because of the cannula, there was NO bruising at all! I really appreciate the time he takes to discuss what he is doing and I never feel rushed or that I'm asking too many questions. I highly recommend Santa Cruz Med Spa!!!"

Dr. Tye de pena wanted to charge 1500 dollars per 2 inch area of treatment using a simple laser tool. Needless to say I was astonished. It was horrible and I will never go back.

Wants to charge 200+ to remove some tiny writing on hands.... tries to sucker you in by telling you to come in for a free consultation and possibly get a treatment when all you write for is a quote..... I won't be going here if they are that ridiculous and that rude that they can't even understand someone's circumstances.

dr tye de pena changed my life when i was going through the toughest time ever i had a tattoo put on under my chin and whole throat i went in not knowing what to expect he made me feel so comfortable and he got the whole tattoo removed to about 98% gone its truly amazing what he has done hands down the best tattoo removal dr on the west coast i travel all over the world to get tattoos and every tattoo artist is amazed that he was able to remove that tattoo with zero scaring this guy gave me my confidence back and is truly a genuine person !!!!!
