Incapacitated for days now following the brutal massage. Am in so much pain two weeks later, i can't get out of bed. I asked for a deep tissue massage, and to my surprise the therapist got up on me and started, performing a very brutal foot digging on my lower back and upper back. I wasn't sure if that pressure was meant to feel like a bit of suffocation while on my back so I asked him to stop and then he proceeded to go towards my lumbar with his feet. I asked him to stop again and use his hands instead but his response was that I was very tight in my muscles, and that I was tense; even though, I was not! This was a leisure massage, to wrap up my week with a treat and meant to be relaxing. I honestly feel this guy was just taking shortcuts by using his feet instead of his hands. I tend to have dense and strong muscles, so I'm not sensitive, but this was something else. He must have confused muscle tissue with tightness; but regardless his feet shouldn't have been used. Deep tissue is something I always get and I've gotten it here a couple of times by hands. Nowhere in the fine print, nor on the menu did it specify standing on me. I hope this did not permanently damage me. Although they've refunded me, I'm worried about my health because of this situation. I've lost days now and incurred costly services to help me get by while I get better. El León has my contact details, should they wish to help me take out the trash since I can't get up myself ! i'm not sure what hurts more the disappointment or the actual physical pain.

The massage therapist touched me inappropriately between my legs several times. Said it was an accident the first time then he did it again. I had to leave and the owner did not even care he said it was my misunderstanding of what a massage is like here.

Stunning spa.

As someone who's worked in the spa industry for two years, I can definitively say that El Leon is a unique gem.

The interior is a MASTERPIECE of design - full of carved wood, ornate doors, plants, fountains, and candles.

Another thing that makes this place unique is the specialty practice of Thai massage: where, instead of a massage table, you lie on a mat on the floor while the therapist stretches and pulls all the tight spots. I always leave on cloud 9.

They also offer facials with Eminence skincare products, which is a really great organic line focused on sustainability.

Overall, really great and unique spa. Definitely a gem when compared to the ultra-modern hotel spas I'm used to.

We live nearby and went in for a couples 90 min massage. The spa is an oasis and feels super calm and welcoming. Not pretentious at all. I felt that the people there cared a lot about what type of massage we wanted and my massage therapist paid excellent attention to my requests. I think the combination of thai/shiatsu deep tissue and more traditional western massage gave me a well rounded experience. Seriously, so much tension melted away. Fair prices. What would take this space to the next level is a post massage relaxation room with tea to revel in the bliss.

Lady at the desk was mean the whole time while talking to me and repeated my questions like I'm not understanding. I thought she was just having a bad day, but after the massage, I found her being incredibly sweet to the other customer(white guy) and then again, she was mean to me. Masseur was great and sweet, but I wouldn't re-visit.

Got a couple's massage and it was perfect!! They were very welcoming and the vibe was just right. My shoulders and muscles were a problem area but the deep tissue combined massage seriously made me feel like a brand new person!
