Central Texas Rehab is absolutely the best. My husband has a traumatic brain injury from a car accident. Every single person that worked with us was amazing, from my first call with Kim and Kristina, each Dr, PT, OT, and ST, our case manager Linda, every nurse and tech. You can clearly see the passion and dedication that everyone has to help your loved ones recover. Definitely recommend 100%.

I recently spent a ten days at Central Texas Rehabilitation Hospital, and felt compelled to recognize the excellent care I received from their dedicated staff of professionals as I recovered from tracheostomy and facial reconstruction surgery.
Special shout outs to Daniel, my respiratory therapist who tirelessly prepared me for self care in the outside world, thank you brother!
Next are kudos to the OT and PT crew headed by my “princess of pain” Alexis, who insistently led me through a process of muscular rehab that produced confidence (and biceps!) to fight through the weakness and pain to achieve results I barely knew possible.
Lastly Christiana, my finest day care nurse, who’s loving compassion brightened each day, Thomas, my nutritionist and the fine meals he prepared for me, and Rhonda, who tirelessly cleaned my messy room day after day!
You all made such a positive impression that I will carry on through my continued rehabilitation in the outside world, many thanks again!

Excellent meals all the food was delicious with very wonderful food service staff .Tami and each one that brought in our tray very caring ensuring that the spouse was also taken care of. The facility and grounds were well maintained. Rhonda kept our room spotless. We had an incident with temperature in room being too cold but the issue was fixed within a few hours. The nurses were great especially Barbara such caring and patience. Thanks Derrick for his encouraging words when we needed them the most along with the male medical assistant. Most of all Dr. Anthony, Claire and Cassidy for your devotion to helping my husband heal and press forward. God Bless you all.

My husband was in this hospital for 16 days. I visited him every day. He went in barely able to speak due to complications from Covid and Parkinson's. The nurses that took care of him were all very attentive and compassionate. The rehab team was fantastic and encouraging. The food at this hospital was pretty great for hospital food! No complaints from any of the patients that I heard. The case manager was so very helpful. She arranged to get us a wheelchair the day before we left (Medicare). I can't say enough about the REHAB TEAM. They were able to get him up and walking (with a walker) further and further every day. Taught him how to get in and out of bed, on and off chairs, in and out of a car! Because of the care he got at Central Texas Rehabilitation Hospital, his confidence is much stronger now, and he is doing well at home.

The past seven days at CTRH have put me on a trajectory for regaining my strength and stability. I am very grateful for the excellent care I received from everyone there. The occupational and physical therapists are knowledgeable, caring and patient. I was impressed by the level and variety of their experiences. Many of the therapists are on contract rather than employed by the hospital. So I often saw a different one every day. However, this didn’t diminish the level of care. The medical staff - doctors and nurses - visited me multiple times a day to monitor my progress, check my vitals, and provide medication.

My only criticisms relate to case management and food service. I talked to a case manager when I arrived and the day before I left. I kept requesting a visit by one, but it didn’t happen. The food was disappointing, even for hospital food. Patients here, who are working hard in recovery, deserve meals that are therapeutic in mind as well as body.

I heartily recommend Central Texas Rehabilitation Hospital to anyone requiring in-patient therapy and medical care.

On April 3, my husband was transferred from Seton hospital . He was being treated for a bacterial infection and had become very weak due to dehydration. He was transferred to CTRH after a week at Seton.
The therapy teams at CTRH were wonderful. They were patient, informative, and had terrific personalities.
However, I can't say the same for the nursing staff. I understand the problem everyone is having hiring employees, especially nursing staff.. Many times they took 20 minutes or so to see what was needed. They were at times, very surly, especially during the night shift.
The cleanliness was also an issue. I had to ask the staff to change his dirty sheets more than once during our 2 week stay. Also, I had a meeting with a home healthcare representative in the 3rd floor cafeteria/meeting room at 11:00am. There were scrambled eggs on one of the tables left over from breakfast. They served a patient his lunch on top of the eggs. Attention to cleanliness was very lacking.
I would have a hard time recommending this facility.

I recently completed 69 days of inpatient care in three hospitals with ICU stays in each facility. The last facility was Central Texas Rehabilitation. While I was very fortunate to receive excellent care in each place, I was particularly grateful for the professionals at CTR. To a person, they were exceptional. From the top administrator, who was very hands on, to the RNS, LVNS, OT/PT the staff made me feel like a person not a patient. The RT “guru” helped me adjust to wearing a mask nightly which was very difficult. A nurse who cared for me several nights rubbed my shoulders and treated me like I was her precious Nana. I know my recovery will be long but made easier by this wonderful group of people. Why would you choose anywhere else?

My brother was in the facility for one week when we found out they were abusing my brother. He had a stroke and was nonverbal at the time but we could communicate with him. He let us know they were slapping and hitting him if he didn’t eat his food. This is absolutely ridiculous that people working in this field can be so cruel and still keep their jobs. My brother was able to point them out and they were still able to keep their jobs. Sad part is it happens so often in these places that people don’t even seem to care. Sad thing is it’s considered a norm. It’s ridiculous that in this country we ALLOW people to be treated this way and get away with it. Sad thing is we had to be scared for retaliation because we spoke up. SMH this is absolutely unacceptable.
