Quite simply, they gave my Dad new life. At 94, with a hip fracture, he was told at hospital he will never walk again. We called Bridge House Therapies on Thames, explained the situation, and immediately they understood and were positive, and then from the minute my Dad arrived they started working with him. It is not only their expertise, which is profound, but the personal dedication which they show. After a few weeks, my Dad was standing, and then walking holding onto bars. We can't quite believe it. Anyone in our situation must contact these excellent people.

Highly recommend. My father is one week into his rehabilitation at Bridge House and the progress is already marked. After a recent 3.5 month stay in hospital, a failed discharge and inadequate social care reablement we felt hopeless and exhausted. Raj's team have changed all of that with their care and expertise. Dad is already more mobile, more confident and so much happier. Can't thank Thames Therapies and Bridge House enough - we finally have our hope back!

My dad recently spent 10 weeks at Bridge House. He has Parkinson’s and, due to a fall and subsequent knee operation, had been in a wheelchair for approximately 15 months when he was admitted. I was assured by Raj that Bridge House specialises in helping those with Parkinson's and mobility challenges.

However, we found that Bridge House was not well set up for patients with Parkinson's. They struggled to maintain routines, to administer medicines with sufficient time before/after food, and to manage his mental needs, including a pain management plan that would allow him to progress with his physio.

After 10 weeks, despite having had physio twice a day, he left still unable to do things that he had been able to do just 2 months before being admitted, such as an unaided transfer from wheelchair to bed/loo/chair or walking with a zimmer. We were told to buy expensive equipment to support him on his return home. However, an independent NHS physio assessed my dad as unable to use any of the equipment that Bridge House had recommended.

Another major concern was the lack of attention to his blood pressure. My dad was changing Parkinson's medicines and so we had sent the doctor's request that his BP be measured daily to check that it didn't go dangerously low. We also discussed this need over the phone and were reassured it would be taken. Yet, when we asked for his BP record, we discovered that they had stopped taking it and didn't have the records required. This was a dangerous oversight.

There are some really lovely and hard-working people working at Bridge House, but we wouldn't recommend it for someone with Parkinson's and significant mobility challenges. For us, this experience was an expensive waste of money.

We have been so impressed with Bridge House Rehab Unit. My dad has been in there for the last few weeks on intensive therapy and is now able to lift himself out of the bed and the recliner. He is now able to walk with the zimmer and able to use the bathroom facilities. This is a major achievement as since my dad had pneumonia last summer and was in hospital for months, he ended up losing his mobility. He left hospital last year and we had to have 2 carers in 4 times a day and he had to be hoisted out of bed. Now we have completely reduced the home care package to single care twice a day. This has saved my dad thousands of pounds along with giving him a completely better quality of life. We have been so impressed with this rehab unit. They are totally professional, dedicated and the service they provide is absolutely fantastic. All the staff in there are amazing and so helpful and caring and nothing is too much trouble. They are an outstanding rehab unit and deserve a medal for their tremendous work that they do. Their Operations Director Raj is absolutely brilliant and is always at the end of the phone providing continued support. I would certainly recommend this unit for their outstanding work and commitment. The results they have achieved is phenomenal and we cannot thank them enough.

I have been receiving inpatient physiotherapy and rehabilitation from Therapies on Thames for the last five months. I have found the staff have an excellent approach and are intuitive in what they do, and they are very caring and kind in their approach, which means everyone is treated as an individual in a holistic way. My progress has been steady over the time and I have learned to walk again after a knee fracture and existing osteo arthritis in my knees, following a long period without exercise and inadequate treatment in another institution.

I have gained in confidence and got rid of my anxieties, so that I will be able to go back to my home in the not too distant future and live independently again.

Therapies on Thames should be congratulated on their highly succesful novel approach, and I would certainly recommend them.

I have a very dear friend who is an in patient at Bridge House Rehab Centre. After arriving unable to walk having been hospitalised twice, my friend has been treated with the utmost care, professionalism and sensitivity. My friend is now walking unaided for a short distance and with further care will be able to manage a greater distance.
I am very impressed with the treatment, I would not have believed it was possible. Patience, care and professionality have been the answer and given my friend her dignity back.
Thank you
Janice Duncan
