I admitted here at the age of 21 in 2014. I was a lost, scared kid. Ashley was not my first treatment experience but thankfully it was my last. I have now been sober for over a decade. I am now happily married with 2 kiddos of my own, and they have never seen their father intoxicated. To say I am grateful to Ashley is an understatement. I owe so much to this place, which is why I chose to be a part of the amazing team that makes this place so special. Ashley has been a mission driven organization since the day it opened 41 years ago, and the staff take a great deal of pride in keeping the mission and legacy alive. Ashley has been the fork in the road for thousands of people over the past 41 years. It is a very unique and special place.

I came to Ashley from Pennsylvania when I was 22 years old and what I experienced there became the foundation for every good thing I have in my life today. The environment allowed me to reflect on my life to that point and helped me determine the kind of person I wanted to become from then on. From sitting outside and watching the birds fly over Chesapeake Bay, to the individual counseling I received, to the drum circles we had every week - every aspect of the campus and the program was tailored to improving my perspective and helping me heal from addiction. Words can hardly do justice to the care I received there and to the gratitude I have for Ashley. It is one of those rare places on earth that could and should be considered hallowed grounds.

As a former patient, I cannot speak highly enough about my experience at Ashley Addiction Treatment. My experience with ashley treatment center was the best experience I’ve ever encountered. I’ve been to many recovery facilities. This was one that stood out. I’ve had an addiction for 30 years. I’m going on two years clean working with the staff at ashley counseling finding peace finding who I was the blessing that I’ve been looking for keeping. Ashley has saved my life. While I do believe they should bring back visitation and the education for families which I find so key in success when we go home, the place itself is beautiful, the staff is wonderful and the education is up to date and top notch.

Unfortunately, my therapist didn’t seem to focus on me or my issues in our group but maybe because I was one of the older girls in an all women’s group with girls that were younger and had never been to rehab before like I have. I would not want her again, but the patients she likes and focuses on she seems to do very well with. I think she had an idea of me without even trying to get to know me and that was that. I had contact with the other therapists tho and they are truly amazing, and make therapy not always serious but fun too. But other than my therapist, the education taught there and amenities that are given are amazing.

The food is top notch and will work with you if you have any food restrictions. It is a wonderful place. The PSA’s need to get off some of their high horses but most look at it more than just a paycheck and actually want to help others. The nurses are outstanding! They really do care about you and your well being. Wonderful people inside and out, give them all raises!

It’s a place to find calm, new friends and have your first experience of strength and hope when you feel like you don’t have any left. I’m sure I could find things to complain about, but I’ve been to a bad rehab/detox a few times. This place is one of the best in the country for sure.

Oh, and start feeding your staff and nurses again please! There is plenty of food. Thank you Ashley. ❤️
