The staff here has been very accommodating when help was needed. Unlike some facilities I visited, Avantara Lincoln Park is clean and odor free when I've come (2x a wk). I appreciate the free laundry service and the availability of a beautician by appointment. Avantara also offer a number of activities and space for family gatherings, it may not be five star but it's at least 4.5. My sister has improved in the three weeks she's been there and case Manager Sally has worked closely with the family explaining coverage and insurance issues.

I was pleased that there was no odor of urine. The facility smelled and looked very clean and neat. My Sister looked well cared for and was very neat. Nurse Mae was very nice, informative and pleasant.
My Sister's roommate Diane was also very nice, pleasant and helpful. All in all a good visit.

First day there picking someone up and get stuck for a good 10 min since there is ONLY one driveway through the parking lot and these 2 morons (see photo) need to wash a dumpster...must have been an emergency for them to NEED block the only route through the parking lot. Good thing no REAL emergency arose.

I would give less stars if possible. When we first arrived the staff tried to put my husband in a shared room even though he was undergoing chemo and was immune compromised. The staff appeared to be put out that he needed a separate room.
The staff stated they had no information on my husband even though I confirmed with Northwestern that they sent it.
They were unable to get any medication for my husband for 24 hours. I had to go home and get his medication from home.
They misplaced his chemo medicine. I spent two hours on the phone trying to get through to someone to tell them which medcart the chemo medicine was in. (They put his medication in separate carts). I finally had to get my husband to track down the staff to alert them his medication had been put in two different carts.
I found someone else's dirty clothes thrown in his closet. The staff called me and told me we had an appointment at Northwestern, we went to Northwestern and there was no appointment scheduled.
I had to remind the staff to wear masks in his room. One of the nursing assistants actually thought the mask was to protect her from cancer.
When he was discharged the nurse went over his medication with me, this made me very uneasy as I was under the impression he may not have been receiving some of his medication correctly.

All of the staff I spoke with were responsive and considerate of my concerns as a patient visitor/advocate, and seemed to know and genuinely care for the residents. The entry was pleasant and the floor I visited was clean. The room needs a couple of repairs. The headboard is split in two, and the mattress sags. The wallpaper is starting to peel off. Also, the air conditioner is working well, but there is poor air circulation in the room itself, so the resident seems to be in a stagnant area. Altogether, though, it seems to be a good environment.

I recently had the privilege of receiving care at Avantara Lincoln Park for post-op after having abdominal surgery at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. This is my first experience with a skilled nurse care facility, but I was very pleased with the overall service and treatment. The staff was extremely friendly and willing to go above and beyond to ensure patient satisfaction. Myrtis and Sally were especially accommodating to the needs and happiness of the patients. I would definitely recommend this facility based on cleanliness, staff and overall satisfaction.
