I have been in Chapel Hill since early July 2023,coming from a very abusive center I was taken to by mistake...
It's ranked the worst in Maryland! [AutumnLake Park something]...
Andy from Admissions here had nicely drove to Frederick Hospital&spent 1 hour w/me while fromICUw/pneumonia from that horrible place, a nervous breakdown from there, a bleeding stomach ulcer,that took me to Baltimore, severely infected leg wounds & cellulitis. She assured me of the kind staff I would find here.
I was in room 9 by myself,where they kept shutting my door&saying they were out of my supplies needed,so my wonderful guy bought anything needed! I never thought we needed bed pads,wipes,toilet paper,tissues,body needs,dressings calcium alginate,fluffy gauze,scissors,even tape...I was there until April 11 2024 alone,&moved to my current semi room nearby.
Sadly due to short bed&lack of PT I am not able to straighten out my knees due to contractures to stand up or walk. I was standing&walking before coming here.
Each time I start to do great,my PT is stopped for plateauing,though I was progressing&gaining strength,feeling positive about goals to go home. One &done like transferring to wheelchair alone or bedside commode is dangerous!
The food here is very good! Lately it's really great! Tonight's dinner was soft chicken tacos, lime rice,fresh salsa,corn relish,sour cream&a great fruit salad.Like being in a restaurant!!!
The Aides& Nurses try hard to treat us well but are always in a hurry it seems... Call lights go un answered a long while especially at night it seems.
The Facility is clean,nice to get around well lit&decorated with only 60 something beds. No couches or comfy chairs, it could smell a bit nicer. I have been told I cannot use a water based spray without any harmful propellent aerosols when using bedpan which is strange,since staff all wears colognes,perfumes etc....
I have been teaching crochet classes,requested by Michelle Director of Activities here&providing snacks,yarns hooks prizes etc. Was told My bf would be re embursed but I can't even get the 20.00 eye drops needed to keep me from going blind it seems. He is a very generous Man& bought two sheet cakes after asking dietary, to share with All for my recent birthday!...
Bingo,Church,Bible Study, Movies,Games,Ice Cream Days etc are very nice here...
I just found out I can go outside by myself. I wish I was told sooner. Hardly anyone can&its getting colder,but the door is too hard on my own...
Administration can be difficult to reach &communicate with. There is no answering machine. No one answers phones very much. Most voice mails are left full. Families cant reach their loved ones&phones sit far back out of reach on night stands against walls... Currently the Director&myself are trying to compromise on things for my continued long term stay here.
I recently received a noticed I"m somehow a danger to residents&they want to evict me for using Febreez spray. I'm in my room alone,or behind a curtain because a man was peaking behind it at me while I bathed& changed clothes many times.....
A non verbal lady arrived a few days ago. She lays there sadly no tv, no visitors yet it seems. I put my t.v. on for her and tell her about the weather,date etc....
I look forward to getting back into PT on the Hi/Lo machine that straightens my knees so I stand and helps me reach my goals to return to my family. That machine is key to my success!!&to serve our Heavenly Father...I will update soon on those progresses & improvements!!! [email protected]
Update...Meeting today was misinformation. They claim they offered me help many times. They never once changed my sheets since April 11th. I do it while in my own bed!!! Try it. It's quite the [email protected]

Chapel Hill Nursing Center is awesome. They take really good care of the residents. They are kind, caring and very respectfully. This facility has been working with my mom to rehabilitate her from eating, speech therapy, sitting up and even standing. The therapy that she has received to rehab her is second to none. The staff is always calling to give updates on my moms condition. They have a care plan in place and every 30 days there is a family meeting to discuss my mom status. I greatly appreciate the services Chap Hill continues to provide and I highly recommend their services. Also, the facility is clean, the residents play bingo, they get snacks in between meals and they also have cook-outs. A lot of fun fill activities daily.

I was pleasantly surprised when I went to see a dear friend at Chapel Hill. The rooms were nicely decorated, the facility was clean, my friend was in good spirits, the staff was helpful and polite. You can’t ask for more than that. I would choose Chapel Hill if I ever needed it for a Loved One.
Kudos to the Staff for making Chapel Hill a shining star.

Just visited nurse on staff was very respectful and helpful. The day time aid Marcia was very nice and respectful with all residents as always. Two of the.Evening shift aides were also nice and made sure residents got meals. chairs need to be replaced" dome stained others week. Not safe or sanitary. Overall everything was good so i rate it 8. Please get new chairs for visitors and residents before someone gets hurt.

I wanted to thank the staff at chapel hill but mainly rehabilitation and social worker.If y’all see him today y’all would be proud of the work and accomplishments. Thanks chapel hill for taking care of my brother and when times it was very difficulty. Tavon T miss y’all

The staff is wonderful. Ms. Britney Gaskins was very helpful with any questions or concerns that I had. The facility keeps you updated with their patients. I know my stepfather is I'm good hands.

This facility has such a home style feeling, being a smaller facility the patients have the feeling of family rather then just another room number. I have supported the veterans meals for the veterans that this facility takes care of with such great care. I would truly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a place to put a loved one.

The nursing administration is David Seidel who has no experience running a nursing home and it shows. He went from cook to nursing home administrator. All of the employees need their licenses verified ASAP. Please stay far away from this nursing home! Do your research to save your loved one’s life!
