My daughter entered into this facility8/24/2024 Didn't hear from Her the rest of the evening next morning.I get a call from a Wireless phone It's my daughter She had been put out and off the property with none of her belongings. No phone, no money.
And we live in surprise Arizona, they provided transportation.
From Canyon vista recovery center in Mesa arizona, where she completed her detox. I have no idea what happened, but that's no way to treat.Somebody who wasn't in the right frame of mind to begin with and now leaving us to figure out how to get to her.

DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES TO THIS HELL HOLE! My husband was willingly going in for medical detox from alcohol and was planning on staying for the residential program. We were promised doctors and nurses on-site, individual rooms with a TV, and the ability to bring in our own (new and sealed) toiletries because my husband has sensitive skin.

During initial intake (which I was not allowed to be a part of) they told him he blew a .3 which seemed impossible knowing he hadn't had a drop to drink in at least 6 hours. (I have been monitoring his BAC since he got home and this isn't possible so they either lied? Or their equipment wasn't working) This sent us both into a panic and I was very worried leaving him there but was assured that he would see a doctor and nurses would check on him hourly.

Only after getting home did I think it was odd that they hadnt talked to me or given me any paperwork. He's been to detox before at different facilities and I've always been in the room and made to sign multiple documents (seeing as most ppl who go in are not in their right heads it seems wise).

He never saw a doctor at all, the "nurses" on staff didn't seem to know what they were talking about and only checked on him once every 4+ hours. During one of these 4+ hours of being left alone (with three other men all crammed in a roach infested room with a broken TV) my husband had a seizure due to alcohol withdrawal. He was sent in with a script for a medicine to PREVENT SEIZURES and they refused to give it to him, as well as I still can not get a straight answer from them as to what pills they put him on.

I woke up at 5:00 to a call from my husband frantic, he quickly told me about the issues with the facility and told me he was having hallucinations and wanted to leave. During this call he was on speaker phone and staff members gathered around and snickered at him for tearing up. I asked the "nurse" if they had medicine to help make him comfortable, and was told he was only on Lorazepam. THIS IS NOT MEDICALLY SAFE FOR SOMEONE DETOXING FROM ALCOHOL.

I picked my husband up after he was there for less than 48 hours and he told me more horror stories. His blood was never taken on intake, something a doctor would need to, you know, correctly provide medication. Staff was rude, gossipy, and extremely unhelpful. We were never given a list of medications they gave him even though we requested multiple times. We were not giving any paperwork at all, at any point in the process! My husband said he had been trying to call me for over an hour and the calls never went through. The staff lied to him, seemingly only to screw with him, and told him I was "on the way" and "just around the corner" despite me never saying that. I was also given the runaround by staff and called over 25 times without anyone answering, and the voicemail box was full.

And what seems like a smaller thing in the grand scheme but still bugs me, they took all his clothes and put him in a weird jumpsuit. They refused to let him use any of the toiletries I provided (none of them contained any alcohol) and now my husband's entire body is covered in a rash because he has eczema (which we told them about and they said he could bring special stuff as long as it was unopened). They also refused to give him the books we packed.

I will be contacting a lawyer and plan to tell everyone I know, on every platform I can access, how truly awful this place is!

I realize that the patrons of rehab facilities are usually overlooked by society but they are just human beings who need a little help and deserve being treated with respect.

This is my second go around, and I must say the staff at the ARC are top notch. They amount of respect I have received from staff here is refreshing. Katie and Leslie go above and beyond to make sure anything I need is taken care of, and that all clients needs are met. Thank you ladies for making my stay at the ARC very comfortable. I also wanted to add that I loved the fact we got to attend bible study every morning and attend church on Sundays. Vance Johnson is amazing and a true testament of living in recovery and following their higher power.

The ARC of Tucson literally saved my life. I was either going to die or go to rehab. I sat down with enough whiskey for just that. I told a friend , if I was alive later I would go.
Only detox, then I did 30...Then I figured maybe 120 couldn't hurt. The employees there are family now and I feel ready for a new life. They are real people that taught me about real life.
I will always have that gift that only they could give at the time I needed help the most

The ARC is an amazing place. I am a current client and am so grateful for the opportunity to be here. The staff is amazing, compassionate, and helpful. Many of them are in recovery themselves, so they have life experience to back up their training. They have "been there" as well and so can understand the plight of the addict in a different way. They can understand where we have been.

I literally had to check out today because a lady named Laura continued going into the bathroom to tell me smoke break in 10 minutes while I was naked I ask her to come back later when I'm dressed she continued to pick her head in harassing me this is not right and I am pursuing legal action I have heard many good things about this place and there are many good staff but this lady should not be allowed to work here and I am letting everyone know just be aware of this woman because she harasses and I feel disgusted I'm really sad that I had to leave because I really want to complete my treatment and I want to thank all the other staff for being awesome
