This place is possibly the most unprofessional facility and management I have ever dealt with in my life. I have worked in healthcare for 30 years and have been floored by my contacts with this place from the very beginning. When I took my daughter to be admitted, the staff was talking about her, while looking out the window to other staff members where I could hear their conversation. They took her to do the admission and then sent her to the hospital for medical clearance. That may have been the best thing that ever happened to her because it got her out of this facility. The nursing staff at two different hospitals told us to not send her back to River Oak.

Since leaving, I have tried multiple times to reach out to them to request that her clothing items be returned to us via mail since I live eight hours away from Tampa. at one point her boyfriend drove two hours and 15 minutes to pick up the items and yet no one would help him. The person in the office said that the staff member in the building where her items were being kept did not have a cell phone and they had no way to reach them. He sat and waited for over an hour and did not leave with her items of clothing. I have asked for them to use some of the $70 in cash that I left to be placed in an account for my daughter to be able to purchase items from their store. And yet no one even bother to call me back. When we finally had a call back , they left a telephone number that just rings and rings and rings and is not answered. I called again and got the intake line. I was put on hold and then some strange person and I think it was a recording comes on and is very ugly to me again I am just amazed that these people can stay in business with tactics like this , they were very quick to answer when I wanted to admit my daughter and now they are unwilling to help at all.

I came to River Oaks with high hopes and expectations; they were more than met. I could go into how nice the facility/ food was but more importantly, the staff was excellent. The therapists were incredible and willing to help at every turn.

I have been to a few places for treatment and Riveroaks was overall a great experience. The therapist are very good. They offer a lot of freedom compared to other treatment centers. Riveroaks gives you your cellphone after detox which is amazing. The food is absolutely great here. Also, the gym is full of workout equipment. I would recommend this place to anyone!

I strongly advise against going to this establishment. There is a complete lack of accountability and professionalism throughout the company. During my stay, behavioral technicians stole my electronics, valued at over $400. The facility is severely overcrowded, to the point where they struggle to adequately feed the clients. The place withholds your Necessary medications if you fail to be in a single group.

I just left Riveroaks yesterday. I didn't want to leave! First of all let mé mention the people that really went above and beyond, Hailey, Dr.Levany, Rachel, Miss Laurel, Gigi, the kitchen staff mainly my Puerto Rican homegirl she knows who she is, Sally, Janez, Chantal, Mr Ian, Ms Olivia, Miss Tiff, Tony, Shanita, nurse Betty, my therapist Sirina,. These employees work very hard, when the hurricane came everything went smoothly, we had a prom! And I NEVER WANT TO USE OPIATES AGAIN! THANK YOU RIVEROAKS for a second chance!

I came here to River Oaks hoping to get help. I have been here 14 days and have not seen a Dr. to discuss my physical issues. When I called the facility I first made sure they would take me to my scheduled surgery. I was told no problem. I went there and gave my orders for surgery to them. I checked again 3 days before the surgery. The day of surgery came I went to the nurses desk and then they told me that they were not giving me a ride, and I could not leave, because there was no address. I told them they had the complete orders nobody could find them. I finally got to talk to the therapist that was scheduled to speak to me.. She did not believe me then she pulled it up on her computer and there it was the orders with the address and everything so needless to say I never did get my surgery that I needed.. I find it very boring here. You have more free time than anything the food I would break maybe a three no. You know it’s hard to get clean when you come into a rehab facility and there’s drugs all over the place being sold and traded I spoke to someone and they said this was just like prison were you play the game? There’s no vending machines they have what they call it candy store that’s only open from 12 to one Monday through Friday. You better have some money on your books for this place. The pictures that they show on their web doesn’t even look like this place. It’s rundown it’s filthy.. The place is understaffed. There has been many times that we have no PAs on the hall so if you need something good luck because you’re not gonna get . If you’re looking for a Rehab, I highly recommend looking someplace else and not here.

Overall, a good place. Recovery always is what an individual will make of it. Great therapists, wonderful smaller classes as well. Ian for DBT group was wonderful, Karah led multiple womens and LGBT+ group which was very insightful, Andrea for grief and Olivia, Tiffany, and Lauren were also great group therapists. Brian as an individual therapist was amazing, a 10/10. The doctor staff including Dr. Fozz and Dr. Levony were part of my staffing team and always made me feel like I mattered and they were very personable. I stayed there for 3 months, detox was a bit uncomfortable and chaotic (but the staff was great, can't do much about the people you detox around), and PHP and IOP was better with their housing unit being apart from residential, more freedom, and better roommates at that point. Ashley, Stephanie, Kieta, were some of the BHTs who went above and beyond, as well as multiple others. The property could be cleaner, protocols could be better in certain situations, which is why i give 4 stars. Nothing is quite perfect and you do have many individuals causing disruption in and outside of class times - which is out of control, but i think the staff does the best they can in each situation. The food is gernerally good. You are also allowed to use your phone 24-7 after a three day blackout which was super convienent for me. However, the vapes you can use are only the ones they sell, which are VERY expensive and youre not allowed to bring in your own vapes or order anywhere else, even if theyre not open. Which in turn leads to people sneaking vapes in, which myself and others had to do (the place is easily accessible to clients sneaking on and off property, even for the best intentions, that could be an issue for others who definitely dont want to be there). The kitchen staff (Stephanie, Carla, Alyshia) were amazing as well and the cleaning staff too. For the 3 months I was there everyone made me feel welcome and safe. The program really focused on mental health and not /just/ taking drugs or alcohol away. Which I liked. Because in the end I found it to be seriously helpful of what I needed to focus on once I put the drink down. I appreciate the whole team of River Oaks and hope they can continue to help others the way I felt helped too. I am currently almost 6 months clean & sober (this is my 2nd time around after I was clean & sober for 11 months and then relapsed), I immediately got a job once i left the program, and I am looking into school. I believe getting to the root of the problem with mental health & addiction with this program, I can see myself and my future growing now. This place gave me hope at a low point, and I'm grateful for it.
