Honestly if I could give a negative review I would. This place is absolutely terrible, the lack of basic needs is overlooked and the patients are left to sit in urine and feces all day long, they never get turned in bed even after developing bed sores. Today my mother was left for over 10 hours without being changed and there was a puddle of urine on the floor from where it had leaked out.

If I could give it zero stars I would. Alicia, Ashley, Flo, Joey and most of the nurses and PT/OT and Speech were great. The doctor did not at all take us seriously when we told him our family member was dehydrated and needed an IV. Thanks to him our family member had to be transferred back to TGH where he had a stroke and passed yesterday.

FINAL UPDATE: I really want to like this place but it's pretty hard to do so. The hands on providers are kind but there are pretty basic aspects of care that get overlooked. My Mom was in here for almost a week and a half and only offered help with a shower once. She was never offered assistance with daily hygiene like brushing her teeth, her hair, etc. I don't know if they are understaffed or what the deal is but you'd think patients would be offered assistance with hygiene on a regular basis. With that said, most of the rehab program is pretty solid. My Mom said her PT, Edgar, was great and had some positive feedback about the OT and ST providers. We had to ask to get the floor mopped in my Mom's room after an entire week and the person we asked at first tried to say she didn't understand English. When we then requested to speak with a supervisor, she suddenly understood and mopped the floor. Again, maybe the staff is overworked in which case it's understandable that they would do the minimum. I hope they resolve some of the issues. It's a nice facility and I believe a lot of the staff actually cares.

UPDATE: Since leaving this review, the level of care provided to my Mom has improved. I want to specify that the nursing staff has been generally kind and caring. In particular, Alma, Natalie and Kaetlyn have been great. The disconnect seems to be between the nurses that are providing hands on care and the doctor who is mostly absent. My family and I have been at the hospital pretty much 24/7 and only one of my siblings has met my Mom's doctor. She described him as dismissive; she said he asks questions and does not listen or make eye contact. I haven't met him but I know he let my Mom sit in a great deal of pain for an entire day which is unacceptable. I hope that situation was the result of a miscommunication between staff and that they don't normally operate that way. We will see...

My mother is currently a patient here. When she got to rehab this past Sunday she was able to walk with a walker and assistance to the bathroom. She was also able to participate in PT, OT and ST. Since being admitted her health has went downhill and no amount of complaining or asking the medical staff for a plan of action is getting her help. Today, instead of getting her stabilized so that she can participate in the full rehab program, they gave her 3 hours of speech therapy. She’s in a great deal of pain and has the symptoms of an obstructed bowel. She needs medical attention to be able to continue her rehab but the staff here seems incapable of grasping that. Avoid this place!

This is the third time my mom has been a patient at TGH Rehab and we have a pushed for her to come here after each hospital discharge (broken hip, broken back and loss of consciousness) because they’re the BEST!
Especially Roberta Barbieri (PT) and Lindsay Folsom (OT)! They work hard with the patient to get results, truly care about her wellbeing, treat her like their own family, communicate updates to the family, and are amazing thought partners in mapping out a care plan.
In a tough situation, this is the place you want your loved one on the road to recovery.

As a former employee (and not for very long) I wouldn’t recommend this rehab to anyone! I was fired back in December for a no call no show! I was scheduled to work Dec.8 which I remember because it was my birthday! I got sick so bad I couldn’t stand up straight. After asking the head staff and my nurse on my floor to leave, I then went to there emergency room across the parking lot. The following day I was scheduled to work. A friend from worked called me on speaking while soaring in front of one of the charge nurses who asked me herself was I coming in, because she was aware I got sick the day before. I told her I wasn’t and still was very much sick! I came back on my next day to work. I’m not in the schedule. I made no big deal told the nurse and he explained Migdalia took me off! Mind you this is the same woman who has been a nuisance from the time I was hired. Everything was unorganized. We literally shared 1 handbook during our whole orientation. They had nothing in black in white, made our schedules up as the day went by and wonder why I kept forgetting. Anywho….I ended up calling HR. At this time we didn’t have anyone because the were waiting on a new on. A few days go by and I speak to Migdalia who said HR would reach out to me. When she did, her and Migdalia was on the phone together! She basically coerced this woman to TELL ME WHAT I DID! Mind u this lady was never met me, but was talking like she had known me all her life. When she was off point Migdalia would speak for her! In so many words. Migdalia had a prior conversation to just run down what she wanted HR to say to me and just fire me. Migdalia also claimed she didn’t know I was sick but later stated such and asked for my discharge papers which I declined to give her because what’s wrong with me is really none of her business. I told her I would get a note stating I was there or to look in there system n possibly give her the documents to show the meds I was on. She later tried to make me out to be a liar by saying I told no one I left! I told her if the cameras really work in this rehab she can run them back and even see me in pain crouched over in the hallways n in patients room trying to make it through my shift! She also stated “If u didn’t know u was on the schedule how did you call out. I explained to her and HR again! A coworker called me with the charge nurse on the phone n asked was I in a state to come in and I declined. Migdalia cut in, gave zero (you know what) and forced HR to terminate me, n that’s what she did. Let’s not go into how this same nurse walked off this same job and boasted how she was going back to TGH. How all the staff that was here when I got here all came from the same place! These people did nothing especially on day shift! They spent plenty of money buying chick fil a for day time staff n other things but night shift gets nothing or the crumbs they leave. This hospital doesn’t care about the employees or the people in the rehab! They even gave me a low pay rate then what I qualified for! I know people quite n this hospital was in disarray one day I had a client there. Two actually! One could never get a bath from day time staff but this the staff the do the most for. People had quite, it was no one running the cafeteria and the big boss had to step in and pick up the slack. The food they sale to the employees is Gross I wouldn’t feed it to my dog. One of the worst environments I’ve been in! Always went home with a headache. Poor choice in staff and people they trusted to run this rehab seems to be all about a buck. OT and PT staff (not all) are a joke! They picked younger staff who probably just finished school n it was a easy transition, they figured this was a good idea to put a group of friend in a new rehab n expect it to run smoothly. This a place is a joke! And not worth losing sleep. They even tried to force me to have a patient sign paper work when she was incompetent! I know she was because they forced me to deal with her. This experience has traumatized me! I wouldn’t recommend to anyone

My mother was transferred to a skilled nursing facility without notifying any family members. I spoke with them the day before and told them not to send her to the nursing facility they decided to send her to and provided an alternative option. Her brother was called to tell him about the transfer. He said, no stop the transfer, and was informed that it was too late and she was already sent. The Rehab Hospital lost her phone so there is no way to contact my mother. It is dehumanizing. She was packaged and sent with no way to talk to or track her. It is impossible to reach the case worker as she doesn't answer her phone and not not have voicemail set up. I would give zero stars if I could.

My father was recently admitted, after a long battle with a septic hip. In April of 2023 he was from being fully independent (driving, going to the gym, travelling), to being dependent within a matter of weeks. He was finally cleared to get the hip replacement surgery at the beginning of December at TGH and then transferred to TGH Rehab Hospital, to regain strength and learn to walk independently. Within the first day he was working with his therapy team in the room to help with bathe and get dressed, as independent as possible. Later in the day, he went to the main gym where he was able to work on his ambulation, upper and lower body strength, and rebuild endurance. Every therapist he worked with had a sincere desire to help him regain his ability to walk and care for himself again. They were passionate about the care they provided. The nursing team was very attentive to his needs and aware of his limitations in his self care. The physicians were also amazing, and there every step of the way. My dad Bob, left TGH Rehab almost 2 weeks later and the most independent he has been in 8 months! The team worked with him through his fears and helped him accomplish his recovery goal. He is now home and able to live a mostly normal life with little assistance! He is still improving his strength with use of a walker, he is going out to eat for the first time in months, was able to spend time with family and participate in activities over the holiday. There is no question in our minds that the team at TGH Rehab made this all possible for him. Thank you!

The communication at this facility is horrible. I could give numerous examples but the worst is when I was asked to be present for an 11:00 AM meeting with the “team” providing care for my partner. Nobody showed for the 11:00 meeting. I inquired and was told they were way behind schedule and the meeting would be closer to 3:00 PM. At 4:00 PM nobody had shown up so I made another inquiry and was told that they had all left for the day. At no time did anyone contact me to explain the cause for the delays, to even let me know there would be delays (without my asking where the team members were) or to tell me that the meeting was canceled. I waited for over 5 hours for a meeting that never took place. I was shocked by the lack of professionalism.

Twice I asked to talk to Heather Higgins, CEO and each time I was told she was unavailable. I asked that she call me but that never happened. A few days later I called and asked to speak to her and again was told she was unavailable but would return my call. The pattern continued and she never returned my call.

There are many great employees that I met there. It’s a shame that there positive deeds are so negatively overshadowed by the unprofessional behavior of others including their CEO.
