One of the reviews mentioned that they don’t give you ALL the information up front, which is very true and I have lost SO much time and money because of that. Their miscommunication and lack of information from the start had so much money wasted on follow-ups to get the rest of the information. Ive been going here since September of 2023, last year. This is when they were still a small business and services were amazing for a couple months. I was on a couple acne medications and things were good until there were changes in my hormones so I was preparing to start accutane.
I was already on birth control and was told to go on a 2nd form of birth control 5 months before even starting accutane, so I was on the shot as well as the pills which affected me horribly. Come to find out, the 2nd form could’ve also just been condoms or abstinence. I kept trying to choose abstinence due to religious reasons but they kept denying that i HAD to be on a 2nd form of birth control, even though abstinence was clearly an option on iPledge. A couple calls later I was able to do so.
I was supposed to start accutane back in april and was told to be on those birth controls for a month before i could start the program, so I was and signed the consent form for ipledge a month later. Come to find out, i had to wait another month AFTER the consent form because the program for accutane doesn’t start until you sign the forms (obviously).
First I had to take a blood test to check my liver, then I was told to go back to take another pregnancy blood test which I could’ve done all at the same time at once, so lack of complete information. I went to the office to get a clear picture of everything before I started and asked if there’s anything I have to do on my part. I was told to just wait for the accutane prescription from walmart. Couple days go by, come to find out from the pharmacy that the order was not placed from the clinic but I had to do so myself, which I was not told so there was a miscommunication. Pharmacy told me they were unable to confirm the order until I answer the questions on iPledge, which I was ALSO not told about. I missed the deadline for iPledge and had to wait another 2 weeks. I decided to not do accutane anymore and simply continue on birth control to keep my hormones balanced at the very least for my acne.
This week, I asked to get a refill on the birth control and was charged an extra $10 for the script. I’ve been trying to reach them and get this situated for a week, calls not answered and texts ignored because it was simply a refill of the birth control pills that I had ALREADY been taking since January! I understand if it was a new prescription but it was the same birth control REFILLS that I was being charged extra for when I never was. I texted that I was truly frustrated and I’m already a couple days without the pills, and was told to find other local free clinics because that’s just their charge for the script.
Truly sucks as we were there since day 1 with them.
Edit to response: the MAIN issue was the lack of Complete information! I was never given an answer as to why exactly I was being charged an extra $10 but rather left ignored which is very unprofessional! If I was told from the start that the first three were free and was later charged for the scripts, I would’ve completely understood but to leave me in the dust and chase for an answer for a week is ridiculous.
our WAITING time was 1+ hours since the appointment time, the appointment itself was only 30 mins.
I was also never told that there were questionnaires to answer on iPledge and had to call in a panicked state because I was never aware of them in the first place, it is my first time and that information was necessary to have been told to me before. I truly appreciate the help I received while in that state, but all of this could’ve truly been avoided had I received everything that I needed to prepare up front than to find out through surprises.
Regardless, thanks for your service and I wish you luck.
